Sunday, November 12, 2023 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

The last monthly qualifier of the year produced two new champions who etched their names in the year-end grand finals. Bowlers packed the Central Lanes Bowling Center during the last monthly qualifier of the year for a crack at the coveted Grand Finals scheduled for December 17, 2023.
Cesar Villanueva took pole position during the qualifying rounds held earlier in the day, followed by Corey Granillo on the long oil pattern. Villanueva edged 6th seed RJ Santos in the first of two semi-finals after the latter left a 6-8 combination and was unable to convert the spare to drop the match by a stick. In the second semi-final match, 8th JD Castro slipped past 2nd seed Corey Granillo as the higher seed watched his ball nip the pin six off a 6-10 leave ending his chances of advancing to the monthly finals. In the final King of the Lanes match, Villaneuva took full advantage of missed frames by Castro on lanes 17 and 18 as he jumped out to an early lead, eventually winning his first title of the year.
Other top ten competitors who advanced to the elimination rounds include third seed Brian Manibusan, Ray San Nicolas, Raymond Cruz, Von Cabral, 9th seed Angelo Aquino, and 10th seed Maria Wood.

The Prince of the Lane’s competition finals pitted the top two qualifiers as top seed Cisco Uncangco capped a good scoring day with a 216 game to oust 2nd seed Calvin Cabuhat for his maiden title. In the semi-final rounds, Uncangco defeated 5th seed Henry Abasta while Cabuhat eliminated 4th seed Daniel Lee to set up the monthly finals.
Uncangco led the Prince field after the four games qualifier followed by Cabuhat, Matt Palarca, Daniel Lee, Henry Abasta, Cesar Soriano, Bill Roberto, Joe Anderson, Erwin Aguilar, and Manny Tagle who competed in the elimination rounds.
The December Grand Finals will feature twenty bowlers from each division, including the defending champion Greg Borja, and the monthly champions.
