Friars, Eagles, Stars win week 5 matches

Thursday, December 7, 2023 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

The FD Friars remained undefeated with one week to go as they beat an undermanned JFK Islanders squad.  Kyle Lindsey led the Friars squad with a 362 set along with a 211 game closely followed by Aron Hernandez who finished six pins adrift with a 201 game.  The Islanders took 3^rd and 4^th place with Stefan Azucena and Miciah Benton, but Xavier Calvo and Mark Bersamin closed out the top four places in their team to win 14-22.

The HCA Eagles pulled within half a game of the Friars as they edged the SPCS Warriors 16-21.  Bowlers on both teams went back and forth in the top four rankings with Ye-Jun Yeo pacing the Eagles squad.  Ray Paul finished in 3^rd, Koren Espia in 5^th, and Bryce Aguilar in 7^th.  Garrett Mangosong came in 4^th for the Warriors with Alexander Nerza in 6^th and Kurt Macatangay in 9^th.

In the tri-school meet, Guahan Academy Charter School chalked up their first win of the season beating out GAA Angels and SJS Knights.  Stars Dallas Cauthern topped the meet with Angel’s Nick Zuniga in 2^nd.  Stars Jusiah Carlos finished in 3^rd with Knights Elijah Dewan in 4^th place.  Taylon Aguero took 5^th for the Stars while Ethyn Hernandez tied for 6^th place with Angel’s Charlier Heberle to solidify the win.
