Jay Leon Guerrero proved that age is just a number as the National Team standout continued his winning ways grabbing the inaugural 2024 Budweiser King of the Lanes monthly tournament. Leon Guerrero beat Ricky Duenas in the monthly finals 203-174. It was a tight contest through eight frames as Duenas led by five pins. Leon Guerrero took advantage of an errand foundation frame by Duenas by closing out the match with a four-bagger to outbid his older foe.
In the semi-final matches, Leon Guerrero dropped top seed Brian Manibusan while Duenas struck his way to the finale by eliminating second seed Charles “MamaChar” Catbagan.
Manibusan led the field during the four-game qualifier held earlier in the day finishing with a total of 857 pins on the 44’ long pattern. Catbagan was five sticks behind in second place with the top ten as follows: Duenas, Michael Gadia, Leon Guerrero, Cisco Uncangco, Corey Granillo, Cesar Villanueva, Cameron Santos, and Ray San Nicolas.

In the Prince of the Lanes division, Elijah Duenas dissected the lanes on his way to claiming the inaugural 2024 Prince title. Duenas ousted 2nd seed Isaiah Macias 210-133 taking full advantage of the match from the get-go.
In the semi-final matches, Duenas beat top seed Francis Prado 188-122 while Macias etched his slot in the finale with a 191-137 set over 9th seed Aron Hernandez.
Duenas qualified in 10th place and made his way through the elimination rounds beating 5th seed Ariana Ada in round one and Chris Santos in round two before upsetting the top two seeds of the tournament.
Prado led all Prince bowlers in the qualifying rounds followed by Macias, Joe Anderson, Isaiah Morellano, Ada, Santos, Noah Tano, Hernandez, and Duenas.
The next Budweiser King and Prince of the Lanes will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 1:15 p.m., at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
