U22 1st Guam Bowling competition bowls up a Storm

The much-anticipated U22 Storm 1st Guam Bowling Championship was in full swing at the Central Lanes Bowling Center on Saturday, October 21, 2024.

Noah Taimanglo dominated the first day of competition with scores of 266, 264, and 216, Taimanglo secured a 248 average,  narrowly edging out Sean Lee by six pins. Taimanglo’s scratch series of 746 leads the field, followed closely by Lee’s 740, including 45 handicap pins. U22 Hong Kong Champion Jeremiah Camacho holds third place with a scratch score of 705,  trailed by Jerome Rivera, Daniel Lee, Parker Ashland, Elijah Duenas, Naiyah Taimanglo, Graig Reyes, Eriana Ada, Kevin Fejeran, Dylan Taimanglo, Gevon Fernandez, Jayden Flores, Aron Hernandez, and Rafael De Guzman. In the U15 division, Eyan Duenas leads the pack by a single pin ahead of Sylas Mandapat. Lucas Leoptrot is in third place, trailing by eight pins,  with Jaden Milan, Riel Brantley, Ayden Buentipo, Tydus Baker, and Aubreale Charfauros completing the top eight.

The competition continues on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with another three-game set. The field will then be reduced to sixteen bowlers in the U22 division and eight in the U15 division, leading to one-game elimination matches to determine the winners.

The inaugural U22 Storm Guam Bowling Championship began with a welcome ceremony, during which Guam Bowling  President Joey Miranda III introduced members of the organization and guests. Robert Dong, Vice President of Storm  Products Inc.,and Mervyn Foo, Technical Director of U22 Consultancy, were present. Dong spoke about the establishment of the U22 program and future events, while Foo offered inspiration to the athletes.

Each participant received a U22 Storm bag with accessories and a PinPoint Guam U22 Storm bowling shirt with their entry. Prizes, including bowling balls, bags, and accessories, are sponsored by Storm Products Inc. and Pin Point Guam. Lucky draws were held for bowlers prior to the start of the tournament and for spectators at the conclusion of the event.

This event is hosted by U22 Bowling Consultancy and Storm Products, Inc., in partnership with Pin Point Guam and the  Guam Bowling Congress, and supported by Tan Holdings Corp., Tan Siu Lin Foundation, J&B Modern Tech, Unity  Development Corporation, and Elegant Reflections.
