The Islanders secured their second win of the season, remaining undefeated in both the boys and girls divisions, as they held off the Bulldogs during the second week of the Guam Bowling High School League competition. Joevin Wolford led the Islanders, with Zayne Ayangco close behind in second place and Stefan Azucena finishing third. Billy Rey Donor from the Bulldogs took fourth place, while Aidan George completed the Islanders’ top four in fifth place with an 11-29 set.
Eyan Duenas of the Titans led the Friday session with a 423 set, but the Eagles dominated the next seven positions to claim victory. Paul Ray led the HCA team, followed by Parker Ashland, Ye-Jun Yeo, and Koren Espia. The Eagles improved their record to 1-1 early in the season, while the Titans suffered their second loss.

In the girls’ competition, the Lady Islanders defeated the Lady Bulldogs 15-21. Charlie Cabarles of the Islanders led the match, with Bulldogs’ Anne Leonardo in second place as players from both teams exchanged positions. The Islanders claimed third, fifth, and sixth places through Khloe George-Estes, Erianna Damian, and Erica Aquino, while Heaven Maralot secured fourth place for the Bulldogs.
The Lady Eagles triumphed over the Lady Titans 14-28, led by Paulino Yoon, who topped the field, with Titan’s Eyana Duenas finishing second. Eagles’ Kate Padrejas and Denise Garcia secured third and fourth places, respectively, while Kamea Alston finished fifth. Isabella Galsim rounded out the Eagles’ top four in sixth place.
The competition continues on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, with Group A action.
