Islanders, Lady Knight continue winning ways

The JFK Islanders and St. John’s Lady Knights maintained their leading positions in Group B during the fourth week of the Guam Bowling High School League competition. Olivia Lee led the Lady Knights to victory over the Okkodo Bulldogs, with the Bulldogs’ Anne Leonardo finishing second. The Knights secured the next three positions, with Knessa Davis, Naima Cook, and Ana-Lourdes Cook completing a 13-36 win.

The HCS Eagles defeated the GAA Angels, staying one game behind the Knights with a 3-1 record. The Eagles won the match 13-31, thanks to Paulina Yoon’s top score of the day, followed by teammate Denise Garcia. The teams exchanged places from third to sixth, with the Angels’ Mahana Vegfria finishing third and Alexa Taimanglo fifth, while Eagles Olivia Hughes and Kate Pedrajas took fourth and sixth to seal the victory.

The Tiyan Titans secured their second win of the season against the Lady Islanders, claiming the top three spots. Diana Aldan, Sarah Joy Tumamak, and Eyana Duenas led the match before the Islanders’ Charlie Cabarles and Juliana Lagman took fifth and sixth places. Kamea Alson secured the fourth player spot for the Lady Titans, closing out the match in sixth place for a 12-24 victory.

In the boys’ division, the Islanders remained undefeated by beating the Titans 13-28. Joevin Wolford bowled the day’s top set with 422 pins and a high game of 237, leading the Islanders. Titan’s Eyan Duenas took second place, while Christof Pineda, Tristan Adonay, and Stefan Azucena finished third to fifth, securing the win for the Islanders.

The Bulldogs stayed within one game of the Islanders by defeating the Knights 13-32. Joel Silvestre led the Bulldogs with a personal best 388 set and a high game of 218. Elijah Dewan of the Knights finished second. The Bulldogs completed the match by taking third to fifth places with Rainen Fernandez, Denhar Malulu, and Jendrien Esman.

The Eagles also remained in contention for the top spot, sharing a 3-1 record with the Bulldogs by sweeping the top four positions. Ye-Jun Yeo, Parker Ashland, Paul Ray, and Don Cabral finished in order for a 10-31 set. Trevain Stephen led the Angels, finishing in fifth place.
