Sunday, April 13, 2025 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

The lanes were alive with energy during an unforgettable match play showdown, delivering nail-biting twists, top-tier performances, and remarkable high scores. Defending monthly champion Ray San Nicolas stole the spotlight in the qualifying rounds, closing out the four-game series with an impressive 279 game to claim the top spot. Averaging an incredible 238 pins per game and amassing a total of 955 pinfalls—all after completing an Ekiden relay earlier that morning—San Nicolas demonstrated unmatched stamina and skill.
The qualifiers were peppered with outstanding performances, including Elijah Duenas’ jaw-dropping 278 game in the Prince Division’s second round and Joonsung Park’s striking 277 in the series’ third game. The King Division qualifier, consisting of the top ten competitors, transitioned into an electrifying single-elimination match format. Here, 5th seed Ricky Duenas outmaneuvered 10th seed Matthew Cruz, 6th seed Corey Granillo triumphed in a thrilling tiebreaker against 7th seed Cameron Santos by a single pin, and dramatic upsets saw 9th seed Dylan Taimanglo defeat 3rd seed Noah Taimanglo while 8th seed Robert Baker overpowered 4th seed Juan Blas.
Round two intensified the competition as Duenas bettered Granillo and Dylan Taimanglo outplayed Baker, paving the way to the semi-finals. Top seed Ray San Nicolas showcased his prowess with a commanding 248-190 victory over Duenas on lanes 21 and 22. Meanwhile, 2nd seed Jeremiah Camacho rallied late in the match to outmaneuver Dylan Taimanglo 214-171.
The King Division finale offered an edge-of-your-seat showdown as Camacho opened with a powerful four-bagger, only to face a setback with a 4-6-7 split, enabling San Nicolas to claw his way back. Both bowlers spared in the ninth frame, setting the stage for a nail-biting conclusion. Camacho delivered a clutch pocket strike, while San Nicolas left pin ten standing and spared, leaving Camacho an opening. Rising to the occasion, Camacho sealed his victory and the April King title with a turkey in the final frame, finishing 225-214.

In contrast, the Prince Division finale saw decisive wins across the board. Round one highlights included Elijah Duenas defeating 10th seed Matt Palarca, 7th seed Virgil Toledo ousting 6th seed Chris Santos, and 3rd seed Joonsung Park eliminating 9th seed Houston Martin. Defending monthly champion Lyo Sawada, a 12-year-old sensation, dazzled the crowd with a 244 game to knock out 4th seed Jason Ragan. Round two delivered thrilling moments as Duenas shot a remarkable 278 to overcome Toledo, while Sawada eked out a narrow 223-219 victory over Park after matching four-baggers to start the game.
The semi-finals were headlined by top seed Curtis Richmond’s commanding performance against Duenas and Sawada’s tactical victory over 2nd seed Kamilah Leones. Richmond proved unstoppable in the finale, utilizing his Phaze II to master lanes 13 and 14 while Sawada’s slow start dashed hopes of back-to-back titles. With his dominant performance, Richmond secured the April Prince Division title, becoming the fourth monthly champion of the year and earning his place in the year-end finale.
