Monday, April 28, 2025 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

Guam’s young bowlers took center stage in the latest IIAAG Middle School Bowling League showdown, delivering clutch performances and setting the stage for a thrilling All Island Championship!

Dewan Dominates, Caasi Clinches Top Seed

L-R: Top 3: Nathan Caasi (2nd place), Tanish Dewan (1st place), and Sylas Mandapat (3rd place).

SJS Knights’ Tanish Dewan rolled his way to the top of the boys’ division with a two-game set of 349 pins, bowling games of 191 and 158. Hot on his heels was AMS Dragons’ Nathan Caasi, who kept pace with consistency, finishing just 22 pins behind. Caasi’s perseverance paid off as he secured the top seed for the upcoming All Island finale—by the slimmest of margins, just one pin ahead of Week 1 leader Lyo Sawada of the SACS Raiders. Dewan follows closely as the third seed, ensuring a fierce battle for the title.

Manta Rays Strike Team Gold!

Led by Sylas Mandapat, who threw down the day’s highest game of 204, the SIFA Manta Rays ruled the team standings with 26 points, outpacing their rivals. Behind Mandapat, Leland de Vera and Elijah Stone Santos tied for sixth place, while Justin Bersamin rounded out the top 10, securing a critical victory over the Raiders by six points.

Meanwhile, the SACS Raiders fought hard to clinch second place, with Dylan Cruz spearheading the charge—edging teammate Sawada by a single pin to claim fourth place, while Xavier Quinata followed closely in eighth. Kavika Angoco added solid support in 15th place, making the Raiders formidable contenders.

The Dragons, helmed by top-seeded Caasi, showed grit with finishers landing in 13th, 31st, and 34th places, earning third place in the team standings.

Charfauros Commands the Girls’ Division

L-R: Top 2: 2nd place Kristine Lanuza and 1st place Aubreale Charfauros.

Once again, Charfauros proved to be a force in the girls’ division, extending her dominance with a 38-pin advantage over Raiders’ Kristine Lanuza. Manta Rays’ Nia de Asis locked in third place, followed by Meimei Lan of the Knights and Aria Jae Domingo of Dominican Catholic School Veritas.

In the team battle, the Manta Rays eked out a nail-biting two-point victory over the Knights, thanks to a powerhouse performance from Charfauros and de Asis, backed by Althea Arigalado and Tasilyn Reyes, who placed 11th and 12th.

The Knights kept pace, led by Lan (4th), Millie Crisfield (7th), Yedam Kim (8th), and Lya Kobayashi (10th). Meanwhile, Veritas rounded out the top three teams, fueled by Domingo (5th), Sophia Blak Llarena (6th), Riona Deeya Brantley (9th), and Julianna Australia (15th).
