Taimanglo Claims Championship Title at the 2nd Guam Bowling Memorial Day Classic Tournament

Noah Taimanglo secured his first tournament victory of the year, earning the prestigious championship title at the 2nd Guam Bowling Memorial Day Classic Tournament. In a dominant final performance, Taimanglo outshined the Senior and Classified division winners, delivering a commanding 226 game to comfortably defeat Zaldy Ponce and Gevon Fernandez.

Taimanglo entered the finals as the top qualifier, maintaining an impressive 229 average throughout the month-long tournament. However, it was Ray San Nicolas who surged into the lead during the four-game roll-off, posting a formidable 942 set with a 235 average on the dual-pattern lanes.

The top four competitors from each division advanced to a high-stakes single-game elimination round. In the Open division, Taimanglo and San Nicolas prevailed over Kevin Fejeran and Matt Cruz to reach the finals. Meanwhile, Robert Baker secured the top seed in the Senior division, advancing alongside Zaldy Ponce after overcoming 3rd seed Manny Tagle and 2nd seed Sheila Bangs. In the Classified division, Leody Ersando and Gevon Fernandez triumphed in the quarterfinals, eliminating top-seed Ezekiel Gatan and 3rd seed Naiyah Taimanglo.

The finals showcased thrilling competition across all divisions. Taimanglo narrowly defeated San Nicolas to capture the Open division title, while Ponce overpowered Baker to claim the Senior division championship. In the Classified division, Fernandez emerged victorious over Ersando to round out the division winners.

The 2nd Guam Bowling Memorial Day Classic Tournament provided an exciting display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship, celebrating the talent of Guam’s bowling community.
