Rule 2. The league will consist of teams with a playing strength of 3. Rosters will be limited to 5 (five) members per team.  The names of players, as well as any changes in the roster during the season, are to be reported by the team captain to the league secretary before a player competes.

Rule 3. League fees, which must be paid by each member each session, shall be $15.00, to cover the cost of bowling.

Rule 4. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.  Individual awards will be awarded to the bowler with the highest average, two game series and highest game.   A certificate of participation will be awarded to all bowlers who completed 16 games or more.

All league members must bowl at least 2/3 (16 games) of the league’s scheduled games to be eligible for individual league awards.

Rule 5. Entering averages of all players shall be determined in the following order:

1. Average established in this league last season, based on 21 games or more.

2. Current average from another GBC recognized league or event, based on 10 games or more.

3. Bowlers who do not have a qualifying average outlined in items 1-2 will establish their average the first session they bowl and will change after each week.

Rule 6. Handicap will be 80 % of the difference between a bowler’s average and a scratch figure of 210. (The scratch figure should be higher than the highest average in the league and shall not be limited unless otherwise provided by league rule.)

Rule 7. The league is open to all persons who are interested in competing.  Bowlers can use any three members on the roster for the current week.

Rule 8. The minimum legal lineup of (2) two players must be present before the completion of the first frame of each game.  Regular members and substitutes count toward a legal lineup.

Rule 9. When bowling in a known forfeit situation or scheduled against a non-existent team in a bye situation, the team must bowl at least the team average less 10 pins per player to earn the points.  A team will earn half a point if they do not beat or match the total points in each game or series.

Rule 10. Absentee scores will be allowed when a team has a legal lineup, but less than a full lineup at the start of any game in a series. Handicap will be figured on the average of absent member. The absentee score will be the absent member’s average minus 10 pins.

Teams having an incomplete roster (vacancy on the team) will use a score of 120 for the vacant position, which shall be used for the basis of determining handicap.

Rule 11. All postponement requests must be approved by the opposing team captain.   The league’s organizers are responsible for making decisions on all prebowl/postponement requests.

Teams may request to bowl unopposed before or after a regularly scheduled match. All requests must be made through the league at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled league session except for emergencies. Procedures outlined in Rule 111a-g must be followed.

Rule 12. A bowler who arrives late may enter the game provided three (3) frames have not been completed. In this situation frames missed may be made up.

Rule 13. Team position standings shall be determined on a point basis, with one (1) point awarded for each game won and one (1) point awarded for the high team series in each match.

Rule 14. If a team or individual must withdraw from the league during the season, two weeks’ notice and sufficient reason must be given.

Rule 15. Tie occurring in any position of the team award will be shared.

Any rules not provided for in this by-law will be referenced through the Guam Bowling Congress Playing Rules and Regulations.
