IT&E 2026 King and Prince of the Lanes

Rules and Regulations 

Venue:  Central Lanes Bowling Center, Tamuning

Divisions:

Men and Women’s “A” IT&E King of the Lanes

Open to all bowlers with no average requirements.  This event shall be bowled scratch.  Women participants in this division will be awarded a handicap of eight (8) pins per game.

Men and Women’s “B” IT&E Prince of the Lanes

This division is open to bowlers with an average of 180 or below as of December 31, 2025, for men.  Division classification shall be based on the highest current Guam Bowling Congress book average with 21 games or more.  This event shall include a handicap system based on the following formula:  75% of 190 average.  Women in this division shall be awarded eight (8) pins of handicap per game. 

The entering average for returnees shall be based on their ending average from the King and Prince of the Lanes 2025.  Bowlers who participated in both divisions shall use the total combined pinfall to determine their average. 

*New Bowler’s average shall be updated after every tournament and will be used to calculate the average for the following month, provided their average does not decrease from the entering average.

*Averages will be recalculated after 12 games for all bowlers entering with a 2025 King and Prince of the Lanes average.  Thereafter, averages will change on a monthly basis provide their average does not decrease from the entering average by more than ten pins.

Handicap for the Grand Finals shall be based on the average for bowlers who bowled 21 games or more, including elimination rounds.  If a bowler has less than 21 games, the handicap shall be the higher of the prince average, entering averag,e or book average.

*Bowlers in the Prince division who move up to the King division during the year 2026 will not be allowed to compete in the Prince division.  Bowlers established in the King division will remain in the division throughout the year.

Tournament Management reserves the right to reclassify bowlers who have not competed in the King and Prince of the Lanes event.

Tie-breaking procedures:

Ties in any position will be broken by a one-ball roll-off and shall continue by alternating lanes until the tie has been broken.  If a tie exists on the first ball, the bowlers shall spare the frame. 

Ties in the Grand Finals will be broken by a one-ball roll-off.  The lane condition shall be determined by a coin toss.  Heads shall be the longer pattern, of which the bowler with the higher scratch average shall bowl first, and tails shall be the shorter pattern, which the bowler with the lower scratch average shall bowl first. 

Forfeit procedure:

Forfeit of position from any top seed player (1st and 2nd) in the semi-final round shall grant the opposing player an automatic win. The forfeiting player shall be awarded 4th place.  If forfeit of position is 3rd place and below, each lower position shall ascend until 10th place is filled.

2026 IT&E King of the Lanes Format

King of the Lanes will consist of a 4-game scratch format.  The top 10 bowlers from the field of each division (men & women) will proceed to bowl in a one-game elimination format final as follows:

King of the Lanes monthly Prize Payout based on 20 entries:

The remaining amount will be used towards the Grand Finals payout.

Bowlers will be awarded points based on their monthly placements as follows:

The monthly winners will receive an invitation to the Grand Finals, which will be held according to the schedule provided.

2026 IT&E King of the Lanes Grand Finals

The Grand Finals shall consist of a total of 24 bowlers, which include all the monthly winners.  Any additional slots created from bowlers winning more than one monthly shall be filled based on the points system.  The December slot will automatically be awarded to the bowler with the most points who did not earn a slot in the Grand Finals by means of winning a monthly event.

Each bowler will bowl in an 8 games match play three player system with a final position round based on a set lane schedule.  Qualified bowlers must be present and checked in by 10:30 a.m.  Thereafter, available slots will be awarded to bowlers on reserve who finished in 25th place and below in the final standings.  Bonus points will be awarded as follows:

  1. If the higher seed wins the game, the bowler will advance to the finals.  If the lower seed wins the game, a one-ball roll-off will be held to determine the bowler who will advance to the finals.  The bowler with the higher pinfall will advance. 2026 IT&E Prince of the Lanes Format

Prince of the Lanes will consist of a 4-game format, bowled with a handicapping system based on 75% of 190 scratch.  The top 10 bowlers from the field, including handicap, will proceed to bowl in a one-game elimination format finals as follows: 

(Note:  All games shall include the handicap of each bowler.)

Averages will be adjusted every month for first-year participants in the Prince of the Lanes.

The King format applies to the elimination rounds.

Entry Fee:      $45.00 per person per event King of the Lanes monthly Prize Payout based on 20 entries:

2026 IT&E Prince of the Lanes Grand Finals
