Sunday, June 13, 2021 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

Greg Borja used a late surge in the final match of the King of the Lanes monthly finals as he crafted together a five bagger from the sixth frame to edge 4th seed Aaron Elliott for the title. Elliott opened the finale with a turkey to take a 19-pin lead after three frames, however, Borja was able to fine tune his angle to the pocket to use light scramble strikes and eventually put the game out of reach.
Top seed Borja eliminated 5th seed Charlie Catbagan in the semi-final match 187-169 while Elliott took advantage of 2nd seed RJ Santos’ miscues for a 212-190 victory.
Borja led all bowlers during the qualifying stages with a 875 series after a fourth game score of 279 followed by Santos, Ricky Duenas, Elliott, Catbagan, Erik Day, Jay Leon Guerrero, Cesar Villanueva, Mark Manibusan and Manny Tagle rounded off the top ten who advanced to the elimination rounds.

Claricelle Lanuza used her handicap advantage to claim her second title of the year as she overcame a surging Cameron Santos in the Prince of the Lanes finals match. Santos was on point to erase Lanuza’s 12-pin handicap and take the crown, but a stubborn pin 10 on the eleventh shot, purged his opportunity. In the end, a 3-6-10 conversion by top seed Lanuza along with a nine count in the fill frame allowed her to edge the second seed with a score of 226-222.
Lanuza also slipped past 5th seed Dominic Uson in the semi-final match 229-218 while Santos beat out 4th seed Bal Perez. Lanuza led all bowlers in the qualifying round with a 825 total including handicap followed by Santos, Nick Gutierrez, Perez, Uson, Kioni Aflague, Corey Granillo, Philip Lopez, Aron Hernandez and Gomes Martinez who advanced to the elimination rounds.
The next King and Prince of the Lanes will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
