Jd Castro came close to winning the Storm Shootout in a side tournament at the Las Vegas Open played at South Point Bowling Plaza.
Castro advanced to the final round by shooting 9-or-better ten times to make the finals. The three finalists then had 5 attempts to make three natural strikes across 5 lanes to win $3000. Castro struck on the first shot and then could not carry thereafter.
Winning the event was a player from Mexico. Castro is joined by Guam players Charlie Catbagan, Aaron Elliott, Flo Glory, Jay Leon Guerrero and RJ Santos. Glory also cashed during the shootout, advancing to round 2.
Guam has three players qualified (Castro, Elliott and Leon Guerrero) for the Las Vegas Open finals which will be played on Sunday, September 5th at 10am (Vegas Time). Qualifying continues until Saturday evening.
