Inaugural IIAAG Bowling League kicks off

Saturday, April 9, 2022 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

High school bowling is now official. After years of anticipation, the IIAAG High School Bowling League held its first meet last Saturday at Central Lanes in Tamuning. A total of 55 bowlers representing four schools took part in the historic event for their first meet consisting of two games per player. During each meeting, players will play two games with the top four scorers counting for placing. The meet format is similar to cross country meets with player ranking tallying points.

Fd defeats Harvest 15-22
The feature matchup was between the Father Duenas Friars and Harvest Eagles. FD’s Ethan Robinson finished first overall with a 386 series with games of 206 and 180 to top the leaderboard.

FD’s Rian Brantley (303), Evan Duenas (302), and Xavier Calvo (266) finished 3rd, 4th, and 7th to give FD a total of 15 points for the Friars.

Miciah Benton (308), representing Harvest, rolled games of 173 and 135 to finish 2nd overall. Parker Ashland (297), Elijah Duenas (296), and Paul Ray (240) finished 5th, 6th, and 9th to help Harvest finish with 22 points.

St Paul had a bye round for their first meet in the boys’ division. Nicolas Delin (231) and Christian Diala (224) were the top two scorers for the Warriors. 

Nalundasan tops leaderboard
In the girl’s division, Southern High School bowler Trinity Nalundasan rolled games of 147 and 170 to finish with a total of 317 topping the girls’ leaderboard.

Harvest def St Paul
Harvest girls won by forfeit over the St Paul Warriors led by Alexandra Loyola’s 270 total. Abigail Kim from Harvest finished with a 202 series to round out the top 3 bowlers in the girl’s division.

Leah Peel (197) and Naja Sablan (167) finished 3rd and 5th in their matchup against Harvest.

Meet 2 will be played on April 24th at Central Lanes. Fd (1-0) vs St Paul (1-0).
