Leon Guerrero places 8th in Milo International All Stars

jay-leon-guerreroJay Leon Guerrero poured in a 2,258 total after ten games of competition to finish in 8th place during the 17th Milo International Bowling Tournament held at the Sunway Pyramid Bowling Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from December 3-7, 2016.

Leon Guerrero started out strong as he led the field after two games of competition with games of 255 and 278.  However, a 205 third game knocked him off the perch before bouncing back with a 279 game to move up to third.  Leon Guerrero struggled in the mid games dropping scores of 191, 213, 187, 202, and 204 before finishing the event with a strong 244 game performance.  Unfortunately, he fell 21 pins shy of qualifying for the elimination round of six bowlers.

Leon Guerrero qualified for the Masters finals in 25th place with three game sets of 743 and 710 for a 1453 total, averaging 242 pins per game.

Malaysian ex-international, Kang Bo Long won the Masters Crown defeating Singapore National Champion Cheah Ray Han in the finals with a 211-202 victory in the step ladder title match.  Cheah eliminated 2nd seed Adrian Ang of Malaysia and 3rd seed Kim Jong Wook of Korea to advance to the title round.  The 16 year old Singaporean also breezed past two Malaysian national bowlers, 4th seed Nur Syawani Sahaf and 6th seed Zulmazaran Zulkifli in the first match.
