Guam Youth Bowler of the Month top 3 (L-R): Runner Up Sebastian Loyola, CHAMPION EVAN DUENAS and 3rd Place Franklin Manibusan Jr.

Sunday, February 5, 2017 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER

Down by 22 pins in the opening stanza, Evan Duenas rallied back with doubles in the 3rd, 4th, 8th and 9th frames to upend second seed Sebastian Loyola in the finals of the Guam Youth Bowler of the month held at the Central Lanes Bowling Center on Sunday, February 5, 2017.  Duenas grounded Loyola’s second attempt at the title in as many tries for the year in route to a 173-157 victory.  Top seed Duenas led all competitors in the four-game qualifier held earlier in the day and qualifies for the year end finale.

Loyola secured his second-place finish as he slammed the door on 4th seed Franklin Manibusan Jr during the semi-final match 204-150.  Loyola used a steady stream of strikes and spares to keep the lower seed at bay.  In the quarter finals, Manibusan dueled defending champion Jeremiah Camacho.  Both bowlers opened with a bevy of strikes as it ended with Manibusan getting past Camacho using his handicap advantage.

Duenas’ handicap helped him land pole position on a total of 825 pins followed by Loyola, Camacho, Manibusan, James Doyle, Jacelyn Espiritu, Rillen Labadnoy, Victory Yalung, Annastashia Leon Guerrero and Noah Taimanglo rounded off the top ten.

The Guam youth bowler of the month continues on Sunday, March 5, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.  This event is open to bowlers 21 years of age and below.
