Sunday, May 7, 2017 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam
Mary Grace Hernandez took advantage of the short oil pattern on her way through the step ladder finale to claim her first youth bowling title. 4th seed Hernandez traversed through the top three seeds knocking each opponent off their higher status. Hernandez beat out 3rd seed Trinity Nalundasan in the first elimination round, then doubled on the last frame of match 2 against Frank Manibusan Jr. to advance to the championship round. Hernandez used her 32-pin handicap advantage to drop 2nd seed Manibusan 147+59 to 155+27. In the final match, Hernandez matched top seed Sebastian Loyola, frame for frame, eventually winning without handicap.
Loyola led the field with a 792 total in the qualifying round held earlier in the day. Manibusan finished in second followed by Nalundasan, Hernandez, Annastashia Leon Guerrero, Jaymason Doyle, Naiyah Taimanglo, Geramae Abinales, Noah Taimanglo and Aaron Hernandez finished in the top ten.
