Jeremiah Camacho was relentless throughout the August 2017 version of the Triple J Guam Youth Bowler of the Lanes, throwing strikes at will. Averaging a 235 pace, Camacho bowled a tournament high 280 during the third game of the four-game qualifier.
Camacho led all competitors with 942 pins followed by Frank Manibusan Jr., Annastashia Leon Guerrero, Noah Taimanglo, Jaymason Doyle, Evan Duenas, Alexandria Loyola, Sebastian Loyola and Merygrace Hernandez who rounded off the top ten.
In the first elimination round, 3rd seed Annastashia Leon Guerrero edged 4th seed Taimanglo 171-166 to move into the next round. However, the 11-year-old 3rd seed bowed out to Manibusan’s 205 game in the semi-final match. Manibusan emerge the victor and advance to the final match against top seed Camacho.
Camacho continued his striking prowess during the championship match rolling eight strikes during the game essentially placing the match out of reach from the lower seed Manibusan. The result, 14-year-old Camacho finished with a 256 game to claim his second title of the year against Manibusan’s 195.
With the win, Camacho ties Taimanglo in the table point system with 97 points apiece. Leon Guerrero moves up to third dropping James Doyle to a fourth-place tie with Sebastiane Loyola at 79 points. Manibusan jumps four spots to sixth followed by Naiyah Taimanglo, Hernandez, Duenas as Jacelyn Espiritu rounds off the top ten.
The next Triple J Guam Youth Bowler of the Month will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
