Camacho romps to March Youth title

2018 March Guam Youth Bowler of the Lanes

Sunday, 4 March 2018 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

15-year-old Jeremiah Camacho romped through the Triple J Guam Youth Bowler of the month championship averaging 232 pins per game on his way to claiming his first title of the year.  Camacho opened the four-game qualifier with a 289 game after leaving a pin seven on the 11th shot then continued his momentum for a 929 set.  Noah Taimanglo finished second, 58 pins adrift, followed by Jaeceline Espiritu and Merygrace Hernandez who qualified for the step-ladder elimination format.

In match one, Espiritu managed to hold off 4th seed Hernandez to advance to the semi-final match.  However, 2nd seed Taimanglo got straight to work, not allowing Espiritu the opportunity to advance as he conjured up a bevy of strikes on his way to a 242 game against Espiritu’s 197.  This produced another episode in the saga of Taimanglo versus Camacho.  This time, Camacho was not to be deterred as the younger foe continued his mastery of the pins finishing with a 232 game against Taimanglo’s 216 for the title.

The next Triple J Guam Youth Bowler of the month will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
