The Guam Senior Bowlers Association began its Roll Off Qualifiers (ROQ) for the 15th Asia Seniors Bowling Championship to be held in Okinawa, Japan December 9th through the 18th this year. The GSBA is currently raising funds to send five four person teams to represent Guam in this prestigious international bowling tournament.
In the Senior Men’s Division, Jim Pinaula is leading with an 1165 series, followed by Rick Torres (1096), Manny Torre (973), and Joe Murphy (893). The Grand Senior Men’s Division was led by GSBA president John Salas with a 1071 series followed by James McCoy (1055), Joe Cepeda (1051), and Joe Pangelinan (916).
Pat Roberto was the sole entry in the Women’s Senior Division with a 1018 series. Felice Meeks led the Women’s Grand Senior Division with a 996 series followed by Mary Pangelinan (900), and Liz Salas (851).
The remaining slots for Senior Team Guam are still open to current members and those wishing to join. Bowlers must be members of the GSBA to qualify for Senior Team Guam. There are 6 qualifiers being held on various dates on Sundays from March till July. Information is available at the Central Lanes bowling counter and on the internet at www.guambowlingcongress.com.
The next two qualifiers will be held on April 8 and April 22
