14-year-old Jeremiah Camacho calmly executed strike after strike in the monthly finale of the Pin Point Guam King of the Lanes match to post a 280-game sending a message to his older foes that he will be a force to reckon with. Camacho defeated Aaron Elliott handily on his way to claiming his first title of the year along with his back to back youth bowler of the year titles.
In the semi-final match Camacho ousted top seed Zachary Ford offsetting a strong opening by the older kegler. Ford strung a four-bagger to open the match to lead by 21 pins, but an error throw left him a 4-6-10 split in the sixth frame which Camacho took full control of, reeling two sets of four baggers and ascended to the finale 245-214. In the other semi-final match, 9th seed Elliott came from behind in the final frame with a turkey to eliminate 2nd seed Noah Taimanglo 203-193 that set up the finals match up.
Ford led all bowlers in the qualifying round with a 963-total averaging 240.75 pins per game. Taimanglo trailed the top post by two pins followed by Cesar Villanueva, Elliott, Camacho, Ricky Duenas, Homer Cascasan, RJ Santos, Jay Leon Guerrero and Justin Mendiola.
In the Pin Point Guam Prince of the Lanes division, Raymond Cruz trumped 2nd seed Aron Hernandez in the monthly finals to claim his first ever title. Top seed Cruz beat out Jaeceline Espiritu 238-200 while Hernandez dismissed Naiyah Taimanglo 216-178 in the semi-final rounds.
Cruz topped the Prince division during the qualifying round followed by 11-year-old Aron Hernandez, Merygrace Hernandez, Kioni Aflague, Nick Gutierrez, Jared Petrus, Jaeceline Espiritu, Cheryl Gumabon, Naiyah Taimanglo and Evan Duenas who qualified for the elimination round.
The next Pin Point Guam King and Prince of the Lanes will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
