Top seed Noah Taimanglo erased the 14-pin handicap advantage of 3rd seed Frank Manibusan Jr. in the early frames of the match after a missed split by Manibusan. Thereafter, Taimanglo went on a striking frenzy to close out the lower seed and claim the Youth Bowler of the Month title.
Manibusan opened the semi-final match with a double and began chipping away on the 33-pin handicap advantage of 2nd seed Alana Fegurgur. Fegurgur struggled through the wading frames as Manibusan cruised into the final match.
Evan Duenas took an early led during the first elimination match against Manibusan Jr. as a the later struggled picking up single pin leaves. Manibusan bounced back with a double to even the score after six frames, trailing by the handicap margin of eight pins. Both bowlers found their groove as they each registered a turkey. Duenas high pocket left a pin four to force Manibusan to strike and hit an eight count to win. Manibusan missed his target, but in the process, the ball set into the left side pocket for a Brooklyn strike then closed out with a nine count to advance to the semi-final round 218-216.
Taimanglo led all bowlers during the four games qualifier with a set of 197, 234, 233 and 233 for a 897 series. Fegurgur finished second followed by Manibusan, Evan Duenas, Naiyah Taimanglo, Cameron Santos, Eyan Duenas, Jordan Hattori, Aaron Lee and Paul Perez rounded off the top ten.
The next Guam Youth Bowler of the month will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
