Aaron Elliott reigned supreme during the August edition of the Pin Point Guam King of the Lanes held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Central Lanes Bowling Center. Elliott entered the elimination rounds ranked seventh and began his journey by striking at will against sixth seed Josiah Lanuza with a 251-186 set. Elliott continued covering the stat sheet with strikes against fifth seed Ray San Nicolas in the quarter final round as he punched out for a 236-219 decision. Elliott took on red hot top seed Jeremiah Camacho where he took full control of the match in the early frames sending the 15-year-old packing in the semi-final match with a final score of 235-186. Elliott then struck on ten of twelve attempts in the monthly finals against 3rd seed RJ Santos ending the lopsided match with a 276-161 drubbing to earn his second title of the year.
During the King qualifier held earlier in the day, Camacho scorched the lanes with a sizzling display of strikes registering scores of 257, 247, 279 and 265 for a 1048 total averaging 261 pins per game as he set a new record for the year following his 1003 series bowled the previous month. Noah Taimanglo finished a distance second with a 911 set averaging 227 pins. Santos finished in third with an 886 total followed by Ricky Duenas, Josiah Lanuza, Elliott, Charlie Catbagan, Gregory Borja and Nikko Gutierrez who finished in the top ten to qualify for the elimination rounds.
Third seed Jordan Hattori claimed his maiden title of his bowling career by defeating top seed Cam Santos in the monthly finals 175+47 to 127+53. The rookie competitor opened the August elimination rounds by beating 9th seed Eya Salandanan in the first round, then ousted Amber San Nicolas in the quarterfinals before edging out second seed Evan Duenas in the semi-final round to qualify for the finale.
Santos set a single game PR of 266 pins during the second game of the Prince qualifier for a 941 total and pole position. Evan Duenas finished in second place followed by Hattori, John Rodriguez, Rudy Palaganas, Kioni Aflague, Joshua Munoz, Amber San Nicolas, Eya Salandanan and Nick Gutierrez.
The next Pin Point Guam King and Prince of the Lanes will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
