Sunday, October 7, 2018 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam
Jeremiah Camacho used a series of doubles to topple top seed Jaeceline Espiritu during the championship match of the Guam Youth Bowler of the month held at the Central Lanes Bowling Center. The third seed erased Espiritu’s 19 pin handicap advantage early in the match. However, Espiritu fought back, in the all south paw match, throwing doubles on frames 5, 6, 8 and 9. Unfortunately, she was unable to string in the last stanza which ultimately allowed Camacho the opportunity to claim his third title of the year.
Camacho set an early pace with a three bagger and slowly reduced a 51-pin handicap deficit to 2nd seed Paul Perez. With half the game completed, Camacho took the lead and capitalized on numerous missed spares by the higher seed. The outcome of 203 to 146+51 allowed Camacho to advance to the final match.
Camacho used a three bagger to take a slim lead over 4th seed Noah Taimanglo through eight frames. Leading by nine pins, Camacho stretched his lead after a missed spare on the foundation frame by Taimanglo. With a crucial strike needed by Taimanglo in the final stanza, a ringing pin ten allowed Camacho to advance to the semi-final match via score of 199-193.
Espiritu led the four-game qualifier with 818 sticks followed by Perez, Camacho, Taimanglo, Evan Duenas, Cam Santos, Eyan Duenas, Frank Manibusan Jr., Alexandra Loyola and Sebastian Loyola who rounded off the top ten.
The next Guam Youth Bowler of the month will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
