7th seed Michael Gadia left no room for 9th seed Noah Taimanglo to make any errors as he converted ten strikes in a row from the 3rd frame for a 280 game to claim the Pin Point Guam King of the Lanes May title. After frame one, it was basically all Gadia as he capitalized on a missed frame by the younger foe and never looked back.
In the semi-final rounds top seed RJ Santos opened the match with a four bagger but was unable to close out eventual champion Gadia as the lower seed dropped the finishing touches with a five bagger to advance to the finals 234-212. 2nd seed Chris Norton also fell victim to the lower seed challenger as Taimanglo overcame an early deficit to advance to the finale with a score of 245-176.
Santos led all King competitors averaging 229 pins per game followed by Norton, Victor San Nicolas, Gregory Borja, Darien Borja, Ian Cabrera, Gadia, Nikko Gutierrez, Taimanglo and Jeremiah Camacho who rounded off the top ten that advanced to the elimination rounds.
2nd seed Virgil Toledo outmaneuvered top seed Arlene Reyes in the Prince of the Lanes finale to claim his first Prince title in ten years. Toledo used a turkey early in the game to take a 40 pin lead as Reyes was unable to recover from a couple of error frames thus was unable to win back to back titles.
In the semi-final matches, Reyes used a five bagger in the mid frames to outbowl 6th seed Rudy Palaganas to advance to the finals while 2nd seed Toledo edged 3rd seed Manny Villaga to set up the monthly Prince finals.
Reyes took pole position during the qualifying rounds held earlier in the day followed by Toledo, Villaga, Gomez Martinez, Palaganas, Shannon Bukikosa, Kioni Aflague, Lito Teodoro and Rolly Hernandez rounded out the top ten who advanced into the elimination rounds.
The next Pin Point Guam King and Prince of the Lanes will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
