RJ Santos claimed his third title of the 2019 Budweiser King of the Lanes series by ousting top seed Cesar Villanueva in the final match held on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Central Lanes Bowling Center. Santos buried the pocket from the get-go amassing eight strikes in a row to take lead and eventually closing out the door on any chance for Villanueva to mount a comeback as the match ended with a 253-203 tally.
In the semi-final round, Villanueva conquered his young foe with a 258-198 drubbing of 5th seed Noah Taimanglo to advance to the finale. 2nd seed Santos escaped a close match against 3rd seed Ricky Duenas as the lower seed was unable to close out the match when his 11th shot drove into the head pin leaving a 3-6-10 count that sent Santos to the final match.
Villanueva edged Santos and Duenas in the four games qualifier by three pins top claim pole position. They were followed by Justin Mendiola, Taimanglo, Charles Catbagan, Jeremiah Camacho, Jesse Flickinger, Christopher Borja and Jay Leon Guerrero who rounded off the top ten and qualified for the elimination rounds.
Dominic Uson added a second title to his 2019 edition of the Budweiser Prince of the Lanes romping on the pins as second seed Claricelle Aniceto was unable to match the pinfalls of the top seed. After all was said and done, Uson accumulated 232 points against Aniceto’s 182 for the title.
Uson struck his way into the final match defeating 10th seed Arlene Reyes 290 to 216 in the semi-final round while Aniceto pounced on 3rd seed Ben Taimanglo 203-131.
