Second seed Michael Gadia grabbed his second 2019 Aloha Maid King of the Lanes monthly title by topping top seed Justin Mendiola in the monthly finals 202-178. Gadia joins RJ Santos and Noah Taimanglo as multiple title winners in the event this year as they prepare for the year end grand finals.
Gadia beat out 4th seed Noah Taimanglo in the semi-final round 235-215 while Mendiola slipped past 10th seed Leon Guerrero 167-162 to stage the final match. In the earlier rounds Leon Guerrero squeezed by 6th seed Erwin Aguilar while Taimanglo ousted 3rd seed Greg Borja 214-180.
Mendiola led the field in the qualifying round held earlier in the day out pinning Gaid by two sticks, 853-851. Borja was five pins adrift as Taimanglo followed suit in 4th place. RJ Santos, Aguilar, Josiah Lanuza, Zayne Zamora, Ian Cabrera and Leon Guerrero rounded off the top ten who battled in the elimination rounds.
3rd seed Chris Leal beat out 4th seed Ben Taimanglo in the Prince of the Lanes finals to earn his first tile of the year and qualify for the year end grand finals.
The Aloha Maid King and Prince of the Lanes monthly tournament continues on November 10, 2019, 9:30 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center as the island’s top bowlers will duke it out in the final month of qualifying before the prestigious year end Grand Finals.
