The IIAAG High School Bowling League kicked off with four teams in action at the Central Lanes Bowling Center. “The kids really enjoyed themselves.” Stated Gina Oh, Guam Adventist Academy Athletic Director.
Elijah Duenas representing Harvest Christian Academy bowled the high game and set of the day rolling games of 213 and 192 for a two game set of 405. Graig Reyes bowling for Father Duenas Memorial School led his team with a 308 total followed by Jayden Flores’ 302 from Guahan Academy Charter School rounds off the top three. The top three female bowlers include Jasmina Tkalec and Jasmine Lee of Guam Adventist Academy and Paulina Yoon of Harvest Christian Academy.
In the boys team action, Harvest Christian Academy took four of the top five slots to beat Guam Adventist Academy 11-33. Duenas pounded the lanes with a 202 average followed by Yu Jun Yeo, and Ashland Parker who occupied the first three spots. Israel Poppe was the top bowler for GAA finishing in fourth place during the head-to-head team format. HCA’s Elijah Dewan placed 5th while GAA’s Stephen Travine finished in 6th.
GAA’s girls’ team out bowled HCA 13.5-26.5 as GAA’s Tkalec led the way. Teammate Jasin Lee tied with HCA’s Paulino Yoon for second. MayJay Patis took fourth place while Leanne Losongo finished in sixth as HCA’s Patricia Deal and Angelina Chen finished in 9th and 10th.
Father Duenas Memorial School outpointed Guahan Academy Charter School 14-26. Reyes took top honors leading the FDMS squad with a 308 total followed by Aaron Hernandez in 3rd, Cameron Granillo in 4th and Benj Encarnacion in 6th. Jayden Flores led GACS with a 302 set as teammates Shawn Estella placed 5th, Tobias Crisostomo and Ethyn Hernandez finished in 9th and 10th.
League action continues on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. with John F. Kennedy High School competing against St. Paul’s Christian School, and Academy of Our Lady of Guam versus Guahan Academy Charter School.
