The Father Duenas Memorial School Friars walked away with a 15-24 decision over the Harvest Eagles during the third week of the IIAAG High School Bowling League at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
The Friar’s Evan Duenas averaged 209 with games of 223 and 195 to lead all bowlers with a 418 set. Parker Ashland was the Eagle’s highest finisher in second with a 359-set followed by the Friar’s Aron Hernandez’ 346. Elijah Duenas finished in fourth for the Eagle’s as Friar’s Aaron Lupola and Karl Perez finished 5th and 6th to outpace the Eagle’s Koren Espia. Friar’s Landon Miles, Benj Encarnacion and Graig Reyes rounded off the top ten finishers during the match up that pushed Eagle’s Elijah Dewan into 11th post to round off their top four bowlers.
The win sets up a match up with the two remaining undefeated teams in the league as they compete against the JFK Islanders next Saturday.

In the second matchup of the day, the St. Paul Christian School Warriors’ held off the Guahan Academy Charter School Stars in both boys and girls’ divisions. Star’s Jayden Flores took top honors in the match with teammate Shawn Estrella in third place. However, the Warrior’s were able to take 2nd as Miles Perez led the charge followed by a 4th to 6th finish with Christian Diala, Nicolas Delin, and Michael Pono for a 17-point total. Star’s Ethyn Hernandez and Josiah Carlos finished 7th and 11th respectively for a 22-point total, five points shy of the win.
The girls contest was a matter of two points as Anaia Quenga led the match in first place followed by a 2nd to 4th finish by the Warrios Maddie Acda, Xerya Anderson and Phoebe Perez. Kayah Untalan and Beatrix Cruz rounded off the top four players for the Stars who finished with 19 points. Alex Anderson’s 8th place finish gave the Warrior’s the win with 17 points.
Bowling action continues on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
