Friars outduels Islanders for boys’ top spot; Cougars remain undefeated

Saturday, April 22, 2023 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

The Father Duenas Memorial School Friars upended the John F. Kennedy High School Islanders by a single point during the IIAAG High School Bowling League at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.  Evan Duenas led the Friars charge on the tough lane pattern finishing with a 345 set.  The Islanders forged their challenge with a second and third place finished through Micaiah Benton and Tristan Adonay as Friars Aron Hernandez landed in fourth place.  Islander’s Andrei Tala ended the match in 5th as the Friars occupied 6th to 8th with Zavien Martinez, Karl Perez and Graig Reyes to finish with 18 points while Hunter Wood finished in 9th place for the 19 point total.  The Friars kept their undefeated streak alive with one week left in the season before the All-Island meet.

The AOLG Cougars took their match against the Islands 16-26 led by Eriana Ada.  However, Juliana Lagman and Kamilah Leones of the Islanders finished in second and third as the Cougars took fourth to nineth place with Alliyah Ferrer, Alexis Leon Guerrero and Michelle Dacanay rounding off their top four placers.
