2026 IIAAG Middle School Bowling League Opens Season with High Energy and Strong Performances

The 2026 IIAAG Middle School Bowling League launched its season with a spirited opening ceremony at Central Lanes, uniting student‑athletes, coaches, school officials, and families from across the island. Teams proudly marched in during the Parade of Schools, displaying their colors and school pride to the cheers of supporters. League officials delivered opening remarks highlighting the continued growth of middle school bowling and acknowledging the vital support of administrators, parents, and community partners who help strengthen youth sports in Guam. The Athletes’, Coaches’, and Officials’ Oaths were then administered, reaffirming the league’s commitment to integrity, sportsmanship, and fair play before competition began.

Following the ceremony, athletes opened the season with a two‑game set that delivered impressive early performances. Andersen Middle School’s Nathan Caasi led the boy’s division with a commanding 214 average, posting games of 217 and 212 for a 429 total. St. Anthony Raiders standout and defending Singles champion Lyo Sawada finished second with a 392 total, followed by teammate Xavier Quinata in third. Rounding out the boy’s top ten were James Powers (Dragons), Tanish Dewan (SJS Knights), John Tumamak (SIFA Manta Rays), Dylan Cruz and Aryan Dewan (Raiders), and Camden Anciano‑Muna and Shaydan Bukikosa (Manta Rays).

In the girls’ division, defending champion Aubreale Charfauros of the SIFA Manta Rays topped the field with a 302 set, followed by teammate Tasilyn Reyes. DCS Veritas’ Aria Jae Domingo finished just one pin shy of second place. The remaining top ten included Thea Doromal (Manta Rays), and a strong Knights contingent of Green Park, Chlorie Lee, Roxanne Reed, and Paloma Cook, Veritas’ Natalie Acierto and Raiders Isabella Palomo and Haley Pinaula closing out the list.

After Week 1, the SJS Knights lead the girls’ division with 30 points, followed by the Manta Rays with 35. The Raiders are in third with 54 points while Veritas holds fourth by a point. In the boy’s division, the Raiders lead with 20 points, followed by the Manta Rays (40), Dragons (50), Seahawks (70), and the Eagles and Knights tied at 99 points.

League play continues Monday, April 27, featuring the exciting Team Baker format as schools look to build momentum early in the season.
