The 2026–2027 ISA High School Bowling League delivered a season finale worthy of its hype, closing out the year with heart‑stopping tie‑breakers, momentum swings, and championship‑defining clutch shots. When the dust settled, the Okkodo High School Bulldogs and the John F. Kennedy High School Islanders emerged as the newly crowned All‑Island Team Baker’s Champions in the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
The top‑seeded Okkodo Bulldogs found themselves in early trouble after the second‑seed Simon Sanchez Sharks came out firing in the championship match. The Sharks’ quartet — Ethan Domingo, Nathan Herrera, Christian Pascal, and Edward San Nicolas — unleashed a blistering 235 in Game 1, leaving the Bulldogs stunned with their 168 response.
But the lane change flipped the script. The Bulldogs — Treyton Meno, Billy Ray Donor, Kyle Leonardo, and Dean Nonato — regrouped and roared back with a composed 198–171 Game 2 victory, forcing the championship into a single‑ball tie‑breaker.
With everything on the line, the Sharks were forced to deliver first. San Nicolas’ shot crept high on the headpin, leaving a lonely 4‑pin standing — a glimmer of hope for Okkodo. Bulldogs anchorman Billy Ray Donor stepped up and buried the championship‑winning strike, igniting the Okkodo crowd and sealing the title as the Sharks claimed the runner‑up silverware.
In the battle for third, the JFK Islanders swept the Tiyan Titans in straight sets, 171–159 and 168–136. The Islanders’ lineup featured Segun Oh, Clayton Tenorio, Ethan Parade, Hajin Lee, Cody Tenorio, and Leland De Vera, while the Titans were led by back‑to‑back Singles champion Eyan Duenas, alongside Robert Peredo III, John Tumamak, Antonio Guerrero, and Jared Masga.
The girls’ championship mirrored the boys’ finale in drama and intensity. The Lady Sharks struck first, toppling the top‑seeded Lady Islanders by 18 pins in Game 1. But just like their male counterparts, the opposing team of Lady Islanders – Charissa Mae Pineda, Anna Rice, Tina Lin, Eliya Park, Erica Aquino, and Althea Arreglado – responded with grit, edging out a narrow four‑pin victory in Game 2 to force yet another tie‑breaking frame.
In the decisive shot, the Islanders posted a nine‑count, while the Sharks managed six, securing JFK’s first-ever Girls Team Baker’s Championship. The Sharks team included Kristen Colitoy, Khezzeah Crucena, Andrea Garcia, Beatrice Garcia, Alexa Jesus, and Isabella Poblete.
The third‑place match added even more fireworks. The Lady Dolphins – Aliyah Pascual, Marietta Duenas, Victoria Fejeran, Crystel Abad, Chenna Cristales, and Isabella Leon Guerrero – slipped past the Lady Bulldogs – Chanel Medina Zabria Cabungcal, Dianalyn Awa, Beth Mendiola, and Ronica Fontillas – by three pins in Game 1, only to be overwhelmed by a 50‑pin Bulldogs explosion in Game 2. But the Dolphins refused to sink — winning the tie‑breaker 8–7 to claim the bronze and close out a day packed with razor‑thin margins and emotional finishes.
From explosive opening games to pressure‑packed tie‑breakers, the 2026–2027 All‑Island Team Baker’s Championship delivered nonstop drama and showcased the rising talent across Guam’s high school bowling programs. With both divisions decided by single‑ball shootouts, this finale will be remembered as one of the most electrifying in league history.
