Sunday, May 6, 2018 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam
Facing a handicap deficit, top seed Noah Taimanglo tried to chip away at 2nd seed Alexandra Loyola’s 64 pin advantage. Loyola was able to get through the first half of the match clean, but back to back opens allowed Taimanglo to come within striking distance. Loyola put pressure on Taimanglo closing out the game with strikes and spares for a 175+64 set. Taimanglo, working on a turkey struck on the tenth frame for a four bagger. Needing another strike in the extra frame, Taimanglo missed his mark to the right leaving the pin two, thus ending his bid for his second title of the year. The final tally of 236-239 went in favor of Loyola who claimed her first title of the year.
3rd seed Evan Duenas took an early lead over Loyola during the semi-final with a turkey, but Loyola strung her set to keep the match within reach. A couple of missed opportunities on the 7th and 8th frames allowed Loyola to battle back within her handicap advantage and edge Duenas 170+64 to 192+32 and advance to the monthly finals.
In the quarter final match, Frank Manibusan Jr. opened the match with a double, but struggled during the mid-frames as Duenas popped a turkey to take the lead and eventually shut out the lower seed on his way to advancing to the semifinals 192-177.
Noah Taimanglo led all bowlers with a 930 four game series, averaging 230 pins per game. Alexandra Loyola finished in second followed by Evan Duenas, Manibusan, Sebastian Loyola, Jeremiah Camacho, Merygrace Hernandez, Jaeceline Espiritu, Bryce Jacosalem and Eyan Duenas rounded off the top ten.
