Okkodo High School claimed both boys and girls High School League title going undefeated throughout the season. Okkodo boys finished with a 5-0-0 record as the girl’s team registered a 4-0-1. The combined team of Tiyan and George Washington High School earned second place half a game back as Father Duenas Memorial and Notre Dame High School took third place. In the girls division, Okkodo High School Team B was 1.5 games behind while Notre Dame High School grabbed third place.
Okkodo boys team include Jarwin Espiritu, Jeremiah Camacho, Tyler Claros and Angelo Guerrero while the girls team consist of Jaecelyn Espiritu, Markina Martin, Dominica Yiluy and Chalani Chaoy.
Camacho took top individual honors in the boys division with a two set game of 494 followed by Noah Taimanglo of ND (462), Frank Manibusan Jr. of GWHS (439), Bryce Jacosalem of Tiyan (400) and Jared Petrus of JFK (383). High Game honors were shared by Manibusan and Camacho (279). Taimanglo, Sebastian Loyola (Tiyan) and Jacosalem round off the top five.
In the girls’ division, Espiritu took both two game set and high game honors with a 412 set and 220 game. Okkodo’s Roseannalyn Canlas finished behind Espiritu with 330 and 201. Tiyan High School’s Ajia Fegurgur and Alana Fegurgur took 3rd and 4th honors respectively while Notre Dame’s Louise Crisostomo was fifth in the series with Carmen Gogue fifth in the high game awardees.
The 2018 Guam High Schools Bowling League concludes with the All-Island competition on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The top 12 boys and 8 girls will compete for the coveted singles event titles while the top four doubles tandems in each division will compete for the doubles title.
