12-year-old Annastashia Leon Guerrero opened the monthly finals with a double taking the early lead against Josiah Lanuza.  The favor was returned in the ensuing frames as 4th seed Lanuza closed the gap on the top seed.  Midway through the match, Lanuza launched a pair of doubles to break away from Leon Guerrero and claim the monthly title with a score of 181+11 to 152+25.

2nd seed Jeremiah Camacho took advantage of missed frames by Lanuza to take the lead through nine frames.  However, Lanuza mounted a comeback as he strung four strikes in a row to finish with a 190 total forcing Camacho to hit nine pins or better to advance.  An error shot in the tenth frame by Camacho ended in a loss from which Lanuza advanced to the finals.

In the quarter-final match, Lanuza and Sebastian Loyola emulated each other’s scoring pattern through the first four frames until Lanuza slapped a five-bagger to pull away from the third seed and advance to the semi-final match.

Leon Guerrero claimed pole position during the four-game qualifier posting a total four game set of 786 pins scratch.  Camacho finished in second with 770 pins followed by Loyola, Lanuza Jaeceline Espiritu, Joevin Wolford, Paul Perez, Mikae’la White, Cameron Santos and Laine-Jo Wolford round off the top ten.

The next Guam Youth Bowler of the month will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center.
