After playing second fiddle during the first four months of the Guam Youth Bowler of the month competitions, Evan Duenas nabbed his first monthly title of the year after edging out top seed Noah Taimanglo 154+38 to 187. The win not only qualifies him for the year end finals, but also snapped Taimanglo’s monthly win streak.
Duenas qualified for the step ladder round as the 3rd seed. He defeated 4th seed Josiah Lanuza after the latter opened on the final stanza via a split. In the semi-final match, Duenas reigned supreme over 2nd seed Raymond Cruz 205-141 to advance to the final match.
The Grand Finals of the Guam Youth Bowler of the Year will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at the Central Lanes Bowling Center. This event is open to the monthly winners of the championship which include Taimanglo, Frank Manibusan Jr., Claricelle Aniceto, Jeremiah Camacho and Duenas along with the top 16 bowlers who qualify through the ranking system.
