Ho Chi Minh City welcomed the participants of the 33rd Asian Intercity Bowling Championship with an electrifying showcase of dance and pomp. The show opened with a dance number from the host group featuring a festival of electric lights. Thereafter, the lovely mistress of ceremony presented the participating cities to the audience which included Bandar Seri Begawan, Belait, Can Tho, Daegu, Dededo, Go Heung, Happy Valley, Hong Kong, Jeju, Kowloon, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, New Territories, Paranaque, Pasay, Petaling Jaya, Seong Nam, Shah Alam, Tamuning, Wuhan and host Ho Chi Minh City.
Speeches were delivered by Mr. Mai Bá Hùng, Deputy Director of Culture and Sport Department (GOH); Mr. Johnson Cheng, President Asian Intercity Bowling Council, Mr. Phạm Quang Chánh, President Ho Chi Minh City Bowling Federation and Chairman of Toan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and tournament host Mr. Leon Lim, Managing Director, MegaBowl Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The symbolic announcement of the opening of the championship was delivered by Mr. Mai Bá Hùng, while athletes and official took the oath of sportsmanship. Souvenirs were distributed to each participating cities by the officials of the event before the welcome dinner hosted at the center’s foyer.
