Lady Islanders Ignite Late to Capture Bakers Team Victory

Thursday, September 17, 2026 – CENTRAL LANES BOWLING CENTER, Tamuning, Guam

What began as a tight three‑way battle between the Islanders, Geckos, and Sharks erupted into a decisive finish when the Lady Islanders unleashed a stunning 191 final game, blowing past the competition and leaving the field in their wake.

JFK Islanders Top Team: (L-R): Althea Arreglado, Chrissa Pineda, Tina Lin, and Anna Rice.

The quartet of Tina Lin, Chrissa Pineda, Althea Arreglado, and Anna Rice found their rhythm precisely when it mattered most. Opening the last game with back‑to‑back doubles, the Islanders cleared the deck early and never looked back. Their explosive finish propelled them straight to the top of the standings, outpacing the Geckos by a commanding 82 pins.

The Geckos, led by a determined Aubreale Charfauros, mounted a strong charge of their own, edging the Sharks by seven pins to secure second place. Supporting Charfauros were teammates Elina Cruz, Kye Roberto, and Jaedah‑Kai Aguon, who kept the pressure on throughout the eight‑game set.

The Sharks lineup of Isabella Poblete, Alexa Jesus, Andrew Garcia, and Khezzeah Crucena stayed well within striking distance, but ultimately settled for third after being outpaced in the final stretch.

Rounding out the standings, the Bulldogs claimed fourth place, while the second Islanders squad finished in fifth.

With the Bakers Team event concluded, the league will pause for one week as Central Lanes hosts the prestigious 38th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship. Competition resumes on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, when the spotlight shifts to the Boys Singles event, promising another round of high‑stakes action on the lanes.
